The 988 FLAT is the volume version of the 988, moving 28 litres on a 20-inch footprint; a comparison of the range recorded by the company puts it first among the 20-inch models on value for money. It measures 35 x 23 x 53 cm -- marginally narrower than the other 20-inch models -- and weighs 7.0 kg empty, so it remains one of the two lightest units we build. Custom colours, logos and cartons are available from 300 units; the standard minimum order is 10 units, and models may be mixed within one order. TSA locks are an optional upgrade.

It is one of five models in the range built on the telescopic-footrest chassis, and its electrical platform, motor and battery are shared with every other model in this catalogue, so a distributor carrying it buys into a common set of chargers and electrical spares. The case measures 36 x 24 x 53 cm and holds 20 litres behind a zipper closure that opens the case flat. The shell is ABS + PC, the maximum load is 110 kg, and the unit weighs 7.9 kg before packing. A telescopic footrest extends for the rider and retracts when the case is pushed by hand. The colourways listed for the model are black, pink and silver. Because the tooling is our own, shell colour, logo placement and retail carton can be changed on request; custom branding starts at 300 units, while standard orders start at 10. A TSA lock can be fitted for an additional USD 1 to 1.5 per unit.

One battery size across the range. It removes in a single motion for charging away from the case, which also keeps a spare battery in the buyer's catalogue rather than a spare case.
Two footrest types
Telescopic models extend the footrest on rails and lock it under the case. Pop-out models fold it flush against the shell. Both are rated to the same 110 kg load.
