One Platform, Nine Models: How We Build Ride-On Luggage
Nine ride-on luggage models, two chassis and one shared electrical platform — how a modular approach shortens sampling, spare parts and certification work for buyers.
One Electrical Platform Behind Nine Models
Our catalogue contains nine ride-on luggage models, and the first thing a buyer should understand about it is that the differences between them are almost entirely outside the electrical system.
Every model uses the same motor, the same controller, the same battery and the same rated performance. The motor is rated at 200 W. The battery is a 37 V 2600 mAh detachable lithium pack rated at 96.2 Wh. The rated load is 110 kg, the top speed is 13 km/h and the range is 12 km. Those figures do not change as a buyer moves up or down the range, and they do not change between the smallest 20-inch unit and the largest 24-inch one.
This is a deliberate engineering position rather than a coincidence of the catalogue. Standardising the drive system means a buyer who approves one model has, electrically speaking, approved all nine.
The Same Statement Appears in Our Own Test Report
A claim like that is easy for a supplier to make and hard for a buyer to check, so it is worth pointing to where ours is documented.
Our CE-EMC test report, issued in June 2026, records the model relationship in the manufacturer's own words: "918 is tested model, other models are derivative models, The models are identical in circuit, only different on the model names, size." That sentence is in the test file because the laboratory needed to know which models the tested configuration covers. It is the same distinction a buyer is trying to establish when they ask whether a second SKU is really the same product in a different shell.
The practical reading is that the electrical circuit has been tested once and applied across the family, and that the variation between models sits in the shell, the size and the furniture of the case.
Two Chassis, Not Nine
The mechanical side of the range resolves into two groups rather than nine.
Five models, the 918 STRIPE, 918 FLAT, 666, 188 and 198, share a chassis with a telescopic footrest. The 988 FLAT and the 968 FLAT use a pop-out footrest on a second chassis. The 988 and the 968 are recorded without a footrest entry in our specification sheet and are not presented on that feature.
Above the chassis, the range varies in ways a buyer can see and specify. Outer dimensions run from 35 x 23 x 53 cm to 47 x 24 x 53 cm. Capacity runs from 20 L to 42 L. Net weight runs from 6.9 kg to 8.2 kg. Closure is a zipper on seven models and a flap on the 188 and 198. Colour availability differs by model and includes black, silver, pink, light grey and a carbon-fibre black finish on selected models. The shell is ABS+PC across the range.
Why a Shared Platform Matters to a Buyer
Three consequences of this structure are worth a buyer's attention.
The first is sampling. A buyer evaluating a nine-model range does not need nine sets of electrical tests, because the electrical system is common. Sampling effort concentrates on the shell and the chassis furniture, which is where the models actually differ.
The second is spare parts. A shared drive system means a shared service kit. We ship 2 per cent of order volume in spare parts with each order, excluding batteries and motors, and within the 12-month warranty period we supply parts free of charge with the freight carried by us. The consumable list is short and predictable: the telescopic handle, the wheels, the controller and the wiring harnesses, and we hold English-language repair videos for them.
The third is certification scope. Because the circuit is common, the certificate families are broad: our CE-EMC, FCC SDoC and RoHS documentation names the 918, 968, 988, 198 and 188 model families. It does not name the 666, and we do not present a certification claim for that model. Buyers should read a certificate's model list rather than assume a range-wide approval, with us or with any other supplier.
What We Make Ourselves
We build our own moulds. All moulds used for these models are held by us, which is what allows a buyer to request changes to a shell, a colour, a printed colour box or a logo without waiting on a third party's tooling schedule.
A new mould or a significant tooling change is a project rather than a line item. Mould lead time runs 45 to 60 days and tooling cost runs from RMB 100,000 to RMB 300,000 depending on the part, and it is negotiated case by case with the cost carried by the buyer who commissions it. Buyers who intend to differentiate on shell design should plan that as a separate phase ahead of the first production order rather than as a detail inside it.
How to Evaluate the Range
A buyer comparing this catalogue against another supplier's should ask for four things: the rated load, the top speed and range, the watt-hour rating of the battery with confirmation that it is removable, and the model list printed on the certificate. Those four answers determine whether a range is genuinely one platform or several unrelated products sharing a brochure, and they are the questions we expect from a serious importer.
Orders start at 10 pieces and models can be mixed within that minimum. Quotations are issued FOB Tianjin, China, in the USD 103 to 140 range depending on model, and the standard lock is not TSA, though a TSA lock can be fitted for an additional USD 1 to 1.5 per unit.
