Ride-On Luggage Sourcing Guide: MOQ, FOB Pricing and Lead Times
A sourcing guide to ride-on electric luggage: minimum order quantity of 10 mixed pieces, FOB Tianjin pricing from USD 103 to 140, sampling and production lead times, and container loading.
What a First Order Actually Requires
The minimum order quantity for our ride-on luggage is 10 pieces, and models can be mixed inside that minimum. A buyer testing a market does not have to commit to a single SKU or to a container; a ten-piece order can be split across the range, which makes it possible to place one unit of each of several models with a retailer or a distributor and read the response before committing further.
Standard colour availability differs by model and includes black, silver, pink, light grey and a carbon-fibre black finish on selected models. When a colour is not held in stock, colour is one of the easiest things to change, because it is a finishing step rather than a tooling change.
Pricing and What Sets the Number
Quotations are issued FOB Tianjin, China, and across the nine models the FOB range is USD 103 to USD 140 per unit. That is an indicative band. A firm price for a specific model is calculated against the quantity and the destination the buyer names, and it is issued as a quotation rather than published, because the same model carries different economics at ten pieces and at a container.
Three things move a quote within that band rather than outside it. The model is the first, since shell tooling and chassis furniture differ. The quantity is the second. The configuration is the third, and the most common configuration change is the lock: the standard lock is not TSA, and a TSA lock can be fitted for an additional USD 1 to 1.5 per unit. A buyer selling into the United States should price the TSA upgrade in from the start rather than treat it as an afterthought.
Payment terms are TT 30/70. Open account terms are not offered, and buyers planning a first order should arrange the deposit accordingly.
Sampling, Lead Times and the Sample Refund
Sampling takes 3 to 10 days. A production run of 100 pieces takes 3 days, and a full container takes 10 days. Those lead times hold in peak season rather than extending.
Samples are charged at the FOB price of the model requested, and the buyer pays the freight. The sample charge is refunded once an order reaches 100 pieces, so a buyer who samples four models and then places a hundred-piece order recovers the sample cost. That structure is intended to make evaluation cheap and to keep the sampling stage from becoming a profit centre, which is often where a first enquiry quietly stalls.
Container Loading and Carton Data
Loading figures differ by model, and buyers comparing two quotes should compare the loading figure alongside the price, because a cheaper unit that loads fewer pieces into a container can cost more per landed unit.
The 918 STRIPE and 918 FLAT load approximately 430 pieces in a 20GP and approximately 1,040 in a 40HQ, with a carton of 62 x 39 x 27 cm and a gross weight of 9.5 kg. The 666 loads approximately 400 and 970, with a carton of 62 x 40 x 29 cm and a gross weight of 9.5 kg. The 188 and 198 load approximately 430 and 1,040, with a carton of 62 x 39 x 27 cm and a gross weight of 9.76 kg. The 988 and 988 FLAT load approximately 405 and 985, with a carton of 62 x 42.5 x 26.5 cm and gross weights of 8.4 kg and 8.6 kg. The 968 and 968 FLAT load approximately 280 and 680, with a carton of 54 x 29 x 65 cm and gross weights of 9.2 kg and 9.6 kg.
The 24-inch models carry a lower container count and a larger interior, so the choice between them is a working-capital decision as much as a product decision.
Warranty, Spare Parts and After-Sales
Every unit carries a 12-month warranty. Two per cent of order volume ships as spare parts with the order, excluding batteries and motors, and within the warranty period parts are supplied free of charge with the freight carried by us. The consumable list is short: the telescopic handle, the wheels, the controller, the wiring harnesses and the branding pieces. English-language repair videos are available for those items, which matters for a distributor whose technician has not worked on this category before.
We do not publish a contractual claim rule, because we have not agreed one with buyers to date. A buyer who needs claim terms written into a purchase agreement should raise that at the negotiation stage so that it can be settled before the order rather than after a problem.
Inspection, Exclusivity and the Buyer Profile
Third-party inspection at an agency nominated by the buyer is accepted. We have not been audited under a social compliance scheme such as BSCI or SEDEX, and we do not present an audit report that we do not hold; buyers whose retail customers require one should treat that as a gating item and discuss the timeline with us.
We do not currently grant exclusivity in any market. We are open to discussing it country by country, tied to an agreed purchase volume, and buyers who want territorial protection should come to that conversation with a volume figure rather than a request.
The buyers who fit this range best are importers and wholesalers, luggage retail chains, gift and promotion companies, mobility and scooter distributors, e-commerce sellers and supermarket buying teams. A typical first order runs above 100 pieces and a mature account runs above 5,000 pieces a year, with volume orders and repeat smaller orders settling at roughly a 70 to 30 split. Buyers should also confirm the destination port and the model mix at enquiry stage, because those two inputs are what turn a range price into a firm quotation.
